Fear Not - The Blessing
Scripture Reading - Genesis 26:22-24 KJV
(22) And he removed from thence, and digged another well; and for that they strove not: and he called the name of it Rehoboth; and he said, For now the LORD hath made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land. (23) And he went up from thence to Beersheba. (24) And the LORD appeared unto him the same night, and said, I am the God of Abraham thy father: fear not, for I am with thee, and will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for my servant Abraham's sake.
Greetings fellow believer in the Awesome Name of Jesus may God’s Grace smile upon you this day while he fills you with all Peace. Today we will continue in our “Fear Not” series. In a previous lesson we highlighted the fact that worry comes from fear. If we can remove the fear from the situation, event, circumstance, sickness, government, leadership, person, etc. . . we will also remove the worry associated with that fear. Thank God through Jesus Christ we can remove the fear. According 1 John 4:18, “There is no fear in love but perfect (mature, sincere, pure, untainted) love casts out fear.” In another previous lesson we mentioned that we don’t need to fear protection primarily for two reasons: one - God is always with us and two - The Lord’s ministering spirits known as angels of God are encamped round about us continuously. The key is knowing divine help is always available and acknowledging God in all our ways so He can direct our paths. In a following lesson we looked at not fearing a lack of provision because you are a child of God. Yes your Heavenly Father greatly delights in you because He loves you so much. His desire is to not only feed you naturally but His Will is that you are well fed both spiritually and physically having more than what you need for that specific meal. In today’s lesson we will discuss not fearing the curse. When we mention curse we are talking about it in both the general sense and not fearing the curse in the specific details that we operate in during our days we live on earth. The curse in general is known as the curse of The Law according to Deuteronomy 28:15-68 it is sevenfold in general because it includes 1 - sickness (and disease), 2 - financial poverty (including lack of shelter, food, clothing and a bad economy), 3 - defeat before our enemies (including a constant fear of your enemies), 4 - no reproduction for new life (both in human and in animals), 5 - inadequate rain (which included unfruitfulness in your land and possible relocation from home), 6 - death (both physically and naturally) and 7 - no fear of God (both personally, nor in the community producing grave sadness through hopelessness). The curse in general represents a bad life for the ungodly individual and their family and their community. This represents the destiny of the wicked who know not God or those who willfully disregard God’s Ways (His Will) because they have no heart for God nor do they regard the children of God. In contrast to those who are living under the curse of The Law we have a remedy (a solution, a way out) and it is known as “The Blessing”. Yes, every evil thing just mentioned in general has a good opposite for the individual believer and their family and yes, even the whole community if they hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God and our Savoir Jesus Christ. The scriptures tell us in Galatians 3:13-14 KJV, “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. This means in general we should be blessed as the people of God. Not the whole world but all believers in Christ Jesus. All Christians have already been redeemed (bought back, repurchased, brought back to the original state of freedom) because Jesus paid our great cost (debt) of sin. All the curses of The Law could be enforced when the debt of sin is attached to a person. Since all those general curses are a by-product of sin and no man (we repeat) no man could keep the Law of God to never have sinned (except Jesus) our freedom from sin (and consequences of sin) was impossible (unattainable) until Jesus came. Thank God, through our Lord Jesus Christ we now have complete and absolute freedom. Jesus was and still is our substitute for the penalty of sin (sickness, lack, fear of death, dread of life, etc…) because the children of God have already been given from God, our Heavenly Father complete salvation which includes healing (good health), prosperity, eternal life (instead of death), the hope of Heaven with a good life on earth, etc… Yes, we now (at least all believers) can rest assured when we do what the word of God tells us to do we reap The Blessings of God by way of faith and obedience. Yes, even Isaac knew a water filled well gave natural life to him, his family and his livestock which represents to us the life giving spiritual well of living water know as Jesus Christ with His precious Holy Spirit. Thus, The Well is The Blessing. As long as God is active in our life we can make it through all obstacles we face (encounter) in this life. Didn’t Isaiah 1:19-20 KJV inform us, “If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.” Eating the good of the land is being blessed but it is conditional, which means it is based upon your willingness and obedience to His word. Please notice right along with the blessing of eating the good of the land there is also an associated curse for those who rebel. We are not the rebellious who confess not Christ Jesus as Lord but we are rather the obedient who love God, who love His Word and who love other people too. Thus, we are blessed so let us think that way, talk that way and walk (be) that way. We are blessed due to what our Heavenly Father and the Lord Jesus Christ already did for us so we can continue to be blessed because God will never stop blessing His Beloved Children for He Loves us so much. All that are in agreement with that say, “Amen!”
